ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Two stolen vehicles were recovered and two people charged after the Asheville Police Department’s License Plate Reader (LPR) system sent alerts over the weekend.
Officers responded to an apartment complex on Granada Street about 6:09 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, to investigate an LPR system alert regarding a stolen vehicle. At the apartment complex, officers found the stolen vehicle with two occupants.
The driver, Stephanie Michelle Seleska, 34, exited the vehicle and attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended, a news release from the police department said. During the arrest, Seleska was found to be in possession of 7.5 grams of fentanyl. The vehicle’s occupant, David Richard Webb, 50, was taken into custody without incident.
Later, during the same shift, officers responded to another LPR alert, which led to the recovery of a second stolen vehicle in the 200 block of Deaverview Road, according to the news release.

Seleska was charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle, two counts of felony probation violation, trafficking opium and resisting a public officer. She was booked in the Buncombe County Detention Facility under NO BOND (ineligible for release) because of the felony probation violation.
Webb was charged with destruction of criminal evidence and resisting a public officer. He was booked in the Buncombe County Detention Facility under a $10,000 secured bond.
