ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Asheville police arrested a man Thursday evening after officers said he fled from them on an e-bike and discarded a bag containing fentanyl, crack cocaine and methamphetamine.

Officers with the Asheville Police Department’s Housing Unit attempted to make contact with 45-year-old Eric Lee Anderson Sr. on Granada Street around 7:20 p.m. Oct. 1, according to APD.

Police said Anderson fled on an e-bike but was found nearby and taken into custody. During the incident, police said Anderson discarded a bag that officers recovered.

APD said the bag contained 7.32 grams of fentanyl, 1.06 grams of crack cocaine and 0.14 grams of methamphetamine.

Anderson faces a felony charge of trafficking in fentanyl, along with two counts each of possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a Schedule II controlled substance and possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a park.

He also faces charges of possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, simple possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance, resisting a public officer and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Anderson was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility. APD said a magistrate ordered him held without bond and found him ineligible for release.
