ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — A fiber break affecting Charter landline service is preventing some calls from reaching Buncombe County’s 911 emergency call center, county officials said Friday.
The outage affects Charter landline customers, according to Buncombe County Public Safety Communications.
All 911 public safety communications lines and equipment remain operational, officials said.
Charter wireless customers and customers of other wireless carriers can still reach emergency services by texting 911, according to the county.
Officials said they will provide updates as more information becomes available.
