ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — The North Carolina Department of Transportation has advised drivers to expect congestion along Brevard Road in Asheville later this week as the Biltmore Championship Asheville golf tournament begins.
NCDOT officials advise Asheville drivers to expect heavy congestion during morning and evening commuting hours from Thursday, Sept. 17, to Sunday, Sept. 20, 2026, along N.C. 191, Brevard Road, in South Asheville.
“Drivers should utilize Interstate 26 as a north-south route instead of Brevard Road on Thursday through Sunday to avoid potential congestion,” officials said.
Brevard Road will remain open to local traffic.
The PGA TOUR tournament website has a map with directions, parking and shuttle information for attendees of the event, the NCDOT said. No spectator parking will be available at the course.
Instead, Biltmore Championship Asheville spectators should park at Biltmore Park Town Square, 1 Town Square Boulevard, Asheville, N.C.
Volunteers should park at the Arden campus of Biltmore Church, 35 Clayton Road, Arden, N.C.
The NCDOT said they are “proud to assist the greater Asheville community with hosting the PGA TOUR’s Biltmore Championship Asheville.”
