ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) —
A new court date has been set for Star Melody Grant, who faces three first-degree murder charges in connection with the deaths of her parents and grandmother in Fairview.
Grant’s next court appearance is scheduled for Nov. 30. The date was announced Monday during an administrative hearing in Buncombe County Superior Court.
Grant was 16 when her parents and grandmother were killed in May.
She faces three counts of first-degree murder and one count of felony conspiracy in connection with the deaths of 41-year-old Travis Eugene Grant, 42-year-old Kimberly Michelle Grant and 66-year-old Sharon Harwood Grant.
The three were found dead May 7 after Buncombe County sheriff’s deputies went to a home on Ashworth Drive in Fairview for a welfare check. Travis and Kimberly Grant were Star Grant’s parents, and Sharon Grant was her grandmother.
Court records list May 1 as the offense date, several days before the bodies were discovered.
Grant and co-defendant Devan Oneal Loving, 28, were arrested May 8 at a hotel in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, after investigators determined Grant was missing from the Fairview home and received information that she might be with Loving.
Grant was later returned to Buncombe County and is being prosecuted as an adult.
