Trick-or-treating – Across Asheville
Halloween is here! Trick-or-treating opportunities will be available for families around Asheville, including at the Grove Arcade, the Asheville Mall and Vermont Avenue, as well as many neighborhoods across town.
The Haunted Farm – 7-11:30 p.m., 624 Townsend Road, Hendersonville
After Hurricane Helene destroyed their woods and canceled their shows last year, The Haunted Farm is back for its 2025 season bigger, better and scarier than ever. While there is no age limit, this is a scary attraction, and no refunds are given for any guests who do not complete the walkthrough. Get tickets for the final weekend and read our review here.
“The Rocky Horror Show” – 7:30-9 p.m., Asheville Community Theatre, 35 E. Walnut St.
Before it was a hit movie, it was a hit play. “The Rocky Horror Show,” the basis for “The Rocky Horror Picture Show, will hit the stage this Halloween at the Asheville Community Theatre. The interactive performance will include call-outs and prop bags provided by ACT. Find tickets here.
Asheville Dark Market – 5:30-9 p.m., Hi-Wire Brewing RAD Beer Garden, 284 Lyman St.
The Asheville Dark Market returns with its signature collection of oddities, alchemies and curiosities. 35 artists and curators from across the Southeastern United States will be in attendance, hocking herbology, offering apothecary and carrying curiosities. The event will also feature beer from Hi-Wire Brewing.
Saturday, Nov. 1
Oddities Estate Sale – 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., 1252 Asheville Hwy, Canton.
Shoppers in the market for teeth, bones and other oddities are in luck. This weekend, Blue Ridge Estate Liquidators will host an estate sale filled with oddities at their Canton warehouse.
South Slope Zombie Walk – 5-10 p.m., South Slope District
The South Slope will be filled with zombies for Day of the Dead. The family-friendly zombie-themed event will feature meals and deals at participating South Slope businesses, as well as zombie happenings like zombie face-painting, zombie costume contests and a free zombie dance party at 7 p.m. at Asheville Yards.

Watch “Ballad of a Small Player” – Now streaming on Netflix
Edward Berger, director of the Oscar-winning films “All Quiet on the Western Front” and “Conclave,” is back with his latest beautifully-shot bummer. “Ballad of a Small Player” stars Colin Farrell as Lord Doyle, a high-rolling gambler staving off his debt collectors in the casinos of Macau. The 15th Asheville Butoh Festival – 7:30 p.m., UNC Asheville
Butoh, a traditional form of Japanese dance and theater, will be celebrated this weekend at the 15th Asheville Butoh Festival. There will be workshops and performances throughout the weekend, culminating in “Life of Flower,” a Butoh performance by participating workshop students, at the Carol Belk Theatre at UNC Asheville.
