Proceeds from the event will benefit local kids in need, making it a perfect outing for the whole family. 

Fiddles & Folklife festival – From noon – 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, an annual Appalachian festival returns to Warren Wilson College. This Fiddlers & Folklife festival features an old-time music competition with cash prizes in categories including fiddle, banjo, folksong, flatfooting and string band. Enjoy lively Appalachian music jams, food and craft vendors, folklife demonstrations and raffles. This fun-filled family-friendly event is free for all, offering a wonderful opportunity to experience the rich traditions of mountain culture. 

“Medicinal Plants of the Southern Appalachians” book launch – Join author Patricia Kyritsi Howell on from 3 – 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 12 at Firestorm Books for the launch of the second edition of “Medicinal Plants of the Southern Appalachians.” Howell will present her updated guide our region’s healing plants and offer a special presentation on Spring remedies. Be sure not to miss out on this engaging and educational event. 

Like, OMG!  Murder! Mystery Night – Get ready for a totally tubular night at Like, OMG! Murder! Mystery Night at 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 12 at Ginger’s Revenge. Return to the 1980’s to an album release party. But watch out! Things take a deadly turn, and it will be up to you to solve the crime. With outrageous retro fashion, celebrities and a night full of intrigue, you will gather clues and uncover whodunit. Costumes are encouraged for participants. Tickets are $35 for solo and $55 for two.  

Pink Moon Market, Music and Benefit Show – Hang out at Citizen Vinyl from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 13 for the Pink Moon Benefit Show. A market featuring handmade and vintage vendors will be accompanied by live music from artists such as Julie Odell, Erika Lewis, AC Sapphire, Liliana Hudgins and Claire Whall. Proceeds from the event will benefit disaster recovery efforts in Kentucky and California. Donations will be accepted. 

Statemint AVL consignment sale – Don’t miss Statemint’s Spring and Summer 2025 Pop-Up Consignment Shop event all day from Thursday, April 10 to Sunday, April 13 at the W.N.C. Agricultural Center in Fletcher. Shop over 10,000 items of men’s and women’s clothing, shoes, handbags and jewelry. The event wraps up with Half Off Day on Sunday. Admission will be free and discounts on clothing will be noticeable. 

Unspoken Tradition concert – Unspoken Tradition brings their unique blend of bluegrass and folk to the stage, combining passion, nostalgia and sincerity in every note. With mostly original material inspired by the roots of traditional music and the evolving culture of Western and Central North Carolina, their sound has captivated audiences across the Southeast. Catch them live from 6 – 9 p.m. on Friday, April 11, at Frog Level Brewing Co. for an unforgettable night of music.
