Autumn at Oz
The Autumn at Oz Festival is the largest Oz festival in the world! A combination of your standard festival with arts & craft, handmade trinkets, memorabilia, & food vendors, it also includes a completely immersive theatrical experience where guests are engulfed into the classic story as you travel into the Gale Kansas Farm, through the tornado experience, and down the yellow brick road to the Emerald City. It all takes place up at Beech Mountain.

North Carolina Mountain State Fair
The North Carolina Mountain State Fair, sponsored by Ingles Markets, continues into this weekend at the WNC Agricultural Center for its 30th year, running from Sept. 6-15. This year, there will be several new features, including new entertainment and an expanded Got to Be NC Pavilion featuring 22 new outdoor vendors.

2024 Festival of Neighborhoods
EDITOR’S NOTE: Due to rain in the forecast, the Festival of Neighborhoods has been canceled for Sept. 14.
The 2024 Festival of Neighborhoods is taking place Saturday, Sept. 14 in Asheville with a goal of fostering connections and sharing information between communities. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Martin Luther King Jr Park, located at 50 Martin Luther King Jr Drive.

Asheville Radio Museum to celebrate grand reopening
Asheville Radio Museum will mark its grand reopening Saturday. Asheville Radio Museum’s new 1,000-square-foot space in the Elm Building at Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College features additional exhibits, a ham radio station and a repair workbench. The museum’s grand reopening will be held in conjunction with its annual Vintage Radio Market.

Moog book launch, signing, performances
A book signing for the launch of “The Minimoog Book” will be 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14, at the Moogseum at 56 Broadway St. in Asheville. Author Joe Silva and publisher Kim Bjorn will offer guests their signatures. Their new book features more than a decade of research, exclusive interviews and numerous photos of Bob Moog’s iconic synthesizer.

Hendersonville Farmers Market Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Day
The Hendersonville Farmers Market is excited to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Day on Saturday, September 14th, from 8 am to 1 pm. In partnership with True Ridge, this event will highlight the rich culture, traditions, and contributions of the Hispanic community through a day filled with music, dance, and family-friendly activities.
