The Photography of Andrea Clark: Remembering Asheville’s East End Community
Opening to the public on Saturday, Sept. 21, the Asheville Museum of History says The Photography of Andrea Clark: Remembering Asheville’s East End Community will feature 35 framed photographic prints from Andrea Clark’s photo series that show areas that were transformed by the city’s urban renewal program from the late 1960s through the early 1970s. Ahead of the exhibit’s grand opening, the museum is hosting a special Preview Party on Friday, Sept. 20 at 6 p.m., which will include music by DJ Raf and cuisine by Chef Hector Diaz. Ticket prices include $50 for museum members and $60 for non-members.

Punch Bucket Literary Festival
It’s a bookworm’s paradise! More than 100 authors will soon descend upon downtown Asheville for the inaugural Punch Bucket Literary Festival, Sept. 20-21. The September festival is being held at The Wortham Center for Performing Arts and The Renaissance Hotel and will feature, among its many prestigious authors, New York Times bestselling and three-time National Book Award-nominated author, Lauren Groff. There will also be readings, workshops, and panels that cover multiple genres and forms, including memoir, fiction, nonfiction and poetry.

Haunted History Tour of Downtown Black Mountain
Join the Swannanoa Valley Museum & History Center Haunted History walking tours in downtown Black Mountain’s historic district. Traveling some of Black Mountain’s most storied streets, visitors will learn about the humorous, haunting and harrowing history of the Swannanoa Valley while being visited by some of its most famous spirits.

Blue Ridge Pride Festival 2024
Blue Ridge Pride Festival 2024, “Rooted in Liberation,” is heading back to Pack Square on Saturday, Sept. 21. There will be over 200 vendors, 13 performers across two stages, their Welcoming Procession tradition which steps off at 10:30 a.m., and so much more.
