FLETCHER, N.C. (828newsNOW) –– Owners and enthusiasts for all things scaly and slimy, rejoice: Repticon is coming to Western North Carolina.
The reptile, amphibian and exotic animal convention will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 25 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 26 at the Western North Carolina Agricultural Center, 775 New Airport Road, Fletcher.
Repticon is an exhibition for vendors, breeders and herpetology – the study of amphibians and reptiles – fans alike.
The family-friendly event will feature hundreds of reptiles, amphibians, arachnids and invertebrates for purchase, in addition to merchants with cages, supplies, feed and enthusiasm for critters.

The list of vendors includes everything from axolotls to turtles. A map can be found at www.repticon.com/north-carolina/asheville.
Tickets are exclusively sold online for the following rates:
- $15 – entry for both Saturday and Sunday
- $12 – entry for all day Saturday
- $10 – entry for Saturday after 1 p.m.
- $12 – entry for Sunday all day
- $6 – entry for children ages 5 to 12
- Children ages 4 and under are admitted free
