ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Asheville city services will be running on a holiday schedule this Friday, April 18 in observance of Good Friday.

According to an Asheville city press release, here are the ways the schedule will be affected in different departments:

ART bus service

ART bus service routes and facilities will operate on the holiday schedule, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Asheville Parks & Recreation

Friday, April 18: Administrative offices and all community center buildings will be closed. Most parks and greenways will be open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Saturday, April 19: A number of community events are scheduled, including Spring Eggstravaganza at Dr. Wesley Grant Sr. Southside Community Center, Parents Night Out sponsored by the T.E.E.N.S. Advisory Club and Four Corners Bingo at Stephens-Lee Community Center.

Sunday, April 20: All community center buildings will be closed. Most parks and greenways will be open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Outdoor features such as playgrounds, picnic areas, and sports courts adjacent to community center buildings are open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on both Friday and Sunday.

Community & Regional Entertainment Facilities

The back nine holes of Asheville Municipal Golf Course will be open. Book a tee time at www.ashevillegc.com.

WNC Nature Center will be open. Entry passes can be purchased at the gate or in advance at wildwnc.org/plan-your-visit.

Emergency response and water-related issues

Water Resources staff will be available for water-related emergencies 24 hours a day over the holiday weekend. Customers can call the customer service line at (828) 251-1122 to report water related emergencies, leaks and breaks.

All public safety services, including police, fire and emergency response, will continue to operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
