CHIMNEY ROCK, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Chimney Rock at Chimney Rock State Park will officially reopen to the public on Friday, June 27, nine months after closing because of damage from Tropical Storm Helene.

Park officials announced the reopening Friday, thanking the community for its support and the teams who worked behind the scenes to restore access.

“It’s been a long road, but we’re excited to have you back on the trails with us soon,” the park said in a statement.

To manage crowds during the initial reopening phase, all guests — including annual passholders — will be required to make reservations. The park will operate Friday through Monday, with limited capacity. Reservations are expected to become available soon at chimneyrockpark.com.
