ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — A vehicle crash has closed one lane on Interstate 26 eastbound near Brevard Road, just south of Asheville.
According to the North Carolina Department of Transportation, the left lane is closed about one mile past Exit 33 (NC 191/Brevard Road) at mile marker 34 in Buncombe County. One of two eastbound lanes is currently shut down.
Officials expect a significant impact on traffic in the area. Motorists are advised to use caution and seek alternate routes if possible.
Authorities hope to have the road reopened by noon.
