ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Biltmore Village, one of the Asheville neighborhoods hit hardest by Hurricane Helene, has been reopening its shops, restaurants and boutiques slowly but surely over the last several months. One recent re-addition to the area was New Morning Gallery, which reopened May 14.
Two months later, New Morning has announced Golden Hour, a brand-new event series intended to spotlight the local artists behind the work on display in the gallery.
The first Golden Hour event will be held from 4–6 p.m., Wednesday, August 7, at New Morning, 7 Boston Way, and feature the work of wood artist Bud Gray and painter Amy Noack, both of whom will be present for the function.
“Golden Hour is designed to spotlight the artists behind the work, offering visitors a relaxed and engaging opportunity to meet the makers, hear their stories and experience the beauty of their work up close,” wrote the gallery in a press release. “With the golden glow of late afternoon as a backdrop, guests are invited to browse new collections, interact with the artists and enjoy light refreshments while mingling with fellow art lovers.”
“As we continue our mission to celebrate fine American craft and exceptional fine art, Golden Hour is a way to bring our community closer to the artists whose work we admire every day,” said gallery director Sarah Marshall in the release. “It’s a chance to slow down, look closely and connect with remarkable local artists who help define Asheville’s artistic community.”
Future Golden Hour events will be held on September 18, October 30 and December 11. The events are free and open to the public.
