“On behalf of the City of Asheville, I want to thank the Department of Homeland Security for approving critical funds to support our community’s recovery from Tropical Storm Helene. These resources will not only help us rebuild but will also strengthen resilience in our water system and our watershed for the future. We are deeply grateful to our partners at FEMA, as well as Senators Ted Budd and Thom Tillis and Congressman Chuck Edwards, for their continued advocacy and support of Asheville,” said Asheville Mayor Esther Manheimer.

Today, Wednesday, Sept. 17, Manheimer is visiting Washington, D.C. with North Carolina Governor Josh Stein to advocate for further relief funding for Asheville and the broader Western North Carolina region.
