ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Go Local Asheville is encouraging residents to preorder the 2026 Go Local Card, a program that supports independent businesses across Buncombe County and promotes keeping spending within the community.

The organization says purchasing a Go Local Card helps sustain the city’s locally owned shops, restaurants and service providers, which continue to face economic challenges. This year, the group is also urging cardholders to “give thanks by giving back” by supporting its more than 30 nonprofit members. All of those organizations accept the Go Local Card and many also seek donations or volunteers.

Go Local Asheville says using the card at businesses that, in turn, support local nonprofits “makes your support for local count twice.” Residents can browse participating nonprofits by using the “Nonprofit” filter on the group’s website or in the Go Local Asheville app.

Founded to strengthen the region’s independent business community, Go Local Asheville promotes locally owned enterprises in Asheville and nearby towns throughout Buncombe County and surrounding areas.
