ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — William Wyatt Adair, 20, was killed this week in an outbreak of gun violence on Patton Avenue. Adair is remembered by his community as a friendly, loving light of positivity.
Adair was beloved as a member of the PIE.ZAA Pizza team, a local pizzeria in the South Slope district of Asheville.
“Wyatt was an absolute incredible human being,” said PIE.ZAA owner Tyler Kotch. “He was always a shining light in the shop. Positivity, all the time. For being so young, he had such a great outlook on the world.”
According to Kotch, Adair made the restaurant a better place to be for customers and staff alike.
“He was a shining star in our facility, and everyone that came across him really enjoyed his presence,” Kotch said.
Adair was a regular presence on the PIE.ZAA Instagram page, where he would make videos like “Hot Takes and Hot Slices,” humorous pizza promos featuring an all-smiles Adair.
Kotch said that he and the rest of the PIE.ZAA staff had been in contact with Adair’s family and his girlfriend, with plans for a GoFundMe or another display of support for the bereaved, if they are open to it.
“We’re just waiting for the family to give us what they want to do and respect them as much as possible,” Kotch said.
