ARDEN, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Former NASCAR driver Dave Marcis’ Arden home was broken into last week, according to a Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office incident report.
Deputies were notified of the break-in at about 2:16 a.m. Aug. 29 at a home on Greenleaf Road, according to the report. The incident itself was reported to have occurred around 9:30 p.m. Aug. 28.
The sheriff’s office classified the incident as felony breaking and entering at a residence and indicated that no force was used to enter the home. Marcis, 85, is listed as the victim.
The report indicates property was stolen, but the inventory of stolen items was still pending when the report was filed.
A social media post by Racing Pro Media says guns, jewelry, Rolex watches, knives and NASCAR memorabilia were among the items stolen. Those details were not included in the sheriff’s office report provided to 828newsNOW.
The post also says Marcis was out of town when deputies responded and that no arrests had been made. The sheriff’s office has not provided additional information, saying the case remains an active criminal investigation.

Marcis is a longtime NASCAR driver who competed in NASCAR’s premier series for more than three decades.
