ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Another person has been charged in the aftermath of a fight that broke out during an anarchist event at a local library more than two weeks ago, Asheville police said in a news release.
Detectives have charged Michael Solomon Brocenos, 34, with ethnic intimidation, specifically for his actions on June 29 at the West Asheville Library, Tuesday’s news release said.
The fight broke out during a seminar titled “Strategic Lessons from the Palestinian Resistance.”

According to Buncombe County officials, Another Carolina Anarchist Bookfair reserved a meeting room at the library for an unspecified workshop. County officials said the librarian, who was not in the meeting room, was alerted to a disturbance and called 911.
Police said the crowd was dispersing when officers arrived. Three victims reported an altercation had taken place followed by an assault. The victims suffered minor injuries and were checked out by EMS, police said.

Taylor Danielle Zarkin, 35, was charged with two counts of resisting, delay and obstruct. A spokesperson for the police department told 828newsNOW the charges “were in relation to her interaction with officers.”
Detectives have been asking for the public’s help to identify persons of interest in the case.
They are also asking for the public’s help in finding Brocenos, who is 6 feet, 2 inches tall and weighs about 165 pounds.
