ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — A man was found hiding in a church’s crawl space and now faces a charge of felony breaking and entering along with 30 other charges from prior alleged incidents, Asheville Police reported Wednesday.

The incident happened around 5:21 p.m. on April 2, when officers responded to a call of a breaking and entering at a church in the 230 block of Merrimon Avenue, police said in a release. Officers reportedly arrived, thoroughly searched the premises and then detected movement from within a crawl space on the property.

According to the release, despite the person’s “initial reluctance” to exit, he was taken into custody without further incident.

The man, Bradley David Quick, 46, now faces more than 30 charges, including the alleged church break-in and prior cases, the release states, including:

  • Four counts of felony breaking and entering.
  • Four counts of larceny after breaking and entering.
  • Larceny of a firearm.
  • Six counts of forgery of an instrument.
  • Five counts of uttering a forged instrument.
  • Seven counts of obtaining property by false pretense.
  • Two counts of identity theft.
  • Possession of methamphetamine.
  • Resisting a public officer.

Police said Quick was being held at Buncombe County Detention Facility under a no-bond hold, meaning he is ineligible for release prior to further court proceedings, due to the 30 charges from prior alleged incidents.
