ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Asheville police are investigating two incidents involving gunfire that happened over the weekend.

A press release from the Asheville Police Department (APD) says officers responded to River Arts Place on Saturday, Aug. 3, around 12:56 a.m. for reports of gun discharge. When they arrived, there was no suspect at the scene, but three vehicles were observed with damage from gunfire.

Officers located 10 shell casings in the area.

That same day, officers responded to an area of Bryant Street around 6:36 p.m. to investigate another report of gun discharge.

“While canvassing the area, officers located a residence on Burton Street that had been hit by two bullet holes and located seven shell casings,” APD’s release says.
