HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Hendersonville is seeking public input on accessibility issues as it undertakes an Americans With Disabilities Act Transition Plan.

The city has launched an online survey through the end of April, asking people to weigh in on accessibility issues affecting people who have mobility challenges or other issues posing barriers to city facilities or services.

The community engagement survey available HERE, asks participants to share their opinions on access issues that are going well and areas that need to be improved.

One key is in identifying top priorities, such as: sidewalks, curbs, crosswalks, pedestrian signals parking, facility access, parks access, website accessibility or telephone and email access.

Participants can describe in detail “city policies, practices, procedures, or programs that you have encountered that are inaccessible or where accessibility could be improved.”

Consulting firm Precision Infrastructure Management (PIM) is helping to city staff members draft Hendersonville’s final ADA Transition Plan. Those wanting to offer input also can contact PIM’s managing partner, Charlie Szold via email: c.szold@precisioninfrastructuremgmt.com .
