If you’re looking to expand your horizons a little more, there’s a perfect chance around the corner.

The 2024 Festival of Neighborhoods is taking place Saturday, Sept. 14 in Asheville with a goal of fostering connections and sharing information between communities. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Martin Luther King Jr Park, located at 50 Martin Luther King Jr Drive.

Victoria Williamson, who participates on the festival’s planning committee, tells 828newsNOW the event also helps connect residents with different city services. She says the event is family-friendly with many activities for kids.

“The Festival of Neighborhoods is more than just an event—it’s a vibrant celebration of the rich diversity that defines our city and a key opportunity for building meaningful connections within our community,” Jaik Smith, a Neighborhood Advisory Committee member said in a press release. “It brings together neighborhoods, local non-profits, and city services, creating a space where everyone can engage and collaborate. Now in its second year post-pandemic, the Festival continues to expand, offering even more fun and excitement with each passing year.”

There will be inflatables, food trucks and 25+ booths representing neighborhoods and local services at this free event.
