ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — In an act of solidarity with Kerr County, Texas after the area was devastated by recent flooding, the Asheville Independent Restaurant Association has announced a new flood relief fundraiser in partnership with Asheville area restaurants.
The fundraiser is the latest rendition of Benevolent Spirits, a recurring fundraiser during which participating restaurants donate $1 from each sale of featured beverages to a local, national or international cause. This time, the beneficiary will be the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund, a support fund organized by Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
Benevolent Spirits will be activated at over a dozen restaurants around Asheville from July 17–27. To participate, simply order one of select beverages from one of the restaurants.
“Having recently been through a similar experience, we know how important it is to quickly get funds into the hands of nonprofits, first responder agencies, and community groups providing immediate relief,” said Meghan Rogers, executive director of AIR, in a press release.
Currently, participating restaurants include:
- Botanist & Barrel
