FAIRVIEW, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Three people were found dead Thursday night inside a home in Fairview.
According to the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded about 7:15 p.m. Thursday, May 7, to a welfare check call on Ashworth Drive. When deputies entered the home, they found three people dead.
As detectives investigated, they determined that a 16-year-old girl who lived at the residence was missing and unaccounted for. Deputies began an investigation, and the teen was found early Friday in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, accompanied by a male.
Detectives with the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office were en route to Tennessee on Friday.
Authorities said the investigation remains active and ongoing, but there is no threat to the public.
The names of the three people found dead had not been released Friday morning.
The sheriff’s office said more information will be released as it becomes available.
