MARION, N.C. (828newsNOW) — McDowell County authorities are investigating another bomb threat at the McDowell County Courthouse.
According to a Facebook post from the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office, evacuations were underway about 8:45 a.m. and authorities were working to secure the scene.
By about 10:30 a.m., bomb squad units and K9 teams were on the scene and methodically searching the McDowell County Courthouse.
About 11:45 p.m., the sheriff’s office said the courthouse had been cleared and no threat was found.
The courthouse is now open and surrounding roads have reopened.

Authorities also investigated a bomb threat on Feb. 7. The building was cleared then and no threat was found.
