ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Following weekend rainfall and scheduled maintenance on the Department of Transportation calendar, there are several roads that will be out of commission for the near future in the Asheville area.
- From 7 a.m., Wednesday, April 9 to 5 p.m., Thursday, April 10 on SR-2791, Bat Cave Road, near Major Mountain Road, the road will be closed for a pipe installation.
No through traffic will be permitted on the route in either direction. Instead, motorists can take a detour along Crooked Creek Road to Hebron Mountain Road then back to Bat Cave Road.
- From 8 p.m., Wednesday, April 9 to 6 a.m., Thursday, April 10, the exit ramp from Airport Road to I-26 West will be closed.
Motorists are advised to follow the direction of on-scene personnel.
- Another downtown stretch of Patton Avenue is slated to be closed between Clingman Avenue and South French Broad Avenue.
Work in the area is ongoing. Motorists are advised to follow directions of on-scene signage and personnel to navigate around the work area.
- Conditions on Meadowfork Road down Highway 63 near Max Patch continue to worsen following weekend mudslides.
