SWANNANOA, N.C. (828newsNOW) — What’s next for storm-damaged Swannanoa? A community meeting has been set to facilitate conversation, connection, and planning for the future.

Residents are urged to join Buncombe County officials and the Swannanoa Grassroots Alliance next week to talk about what’s next for Swannanoa — from Helene recovery to the future of Owen Park and everything in between.

Topics expected to be covered:

  • Helene recovery from the county’s position, including state and federal support
  • The long-term Helene recovery plan
  • Development of a Swannanoa Small Area Plan
  • How MountainTrue is supporting Swannanoa’s recovery
  • Buncombe County’s five-year Strategic Plan
  • The future for Owen Park in the Parks Master Plan
  • A new pedestrian plan in the works with Land of Sky Regional Council

The meeting is set for 7:30-9 p.m. Monday, April 28, at Terra Nova Brewing, 204 Whitson Ave.
