ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — The Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office raided a house in West Asheville on Thursday morning, taking two people into custody and detaining another.

About 9:30 a.m., the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office and several other agencies executed a search warrant at 43 Candler Knob Road. The road was temporarily blocked as authorities surrounded the home.

One neighbor, who wished to remain unidentified, said an officer told her to remain inside her home as what she described as a SWAT team with guns drawn moved toward the house.

According to the neighbor, officers shouted for people in the home to come out and get on the ground.

“It sounded like they were using a bullhorn,” the neighbor said.

The search warrant covered the house, a camper and an RV at the address, a spokesperson for the sheriff’s office said.

Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office vehicles lined the road outside the raided home.

Two animal control units were also on scene with several dogs in each.

Another neighbor said the man who lived at the house had dogs inside and in a fenced area in the backyard.

Authorities have not released any information about who has been arrested or any charges.
