ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Detectives with the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division began investigating a case involving stolen credit cards in the Arden area on May 13. With assistance from the sheriff’s office Crime Scene Unit, Darius Holloway was identified as a suspect.
Further investigation led detectives to believe Kimberly Williams and Luis Arce were conspiring with Holloway. Both were also accused of using the stolen credit cards.
A search warrant was executed May 15 at Williams’ home in Candler, where deputies seized stolen property. Detectives also found evidence connected to the credit card theft and conducted interviews that led to additional evidence being recovered at a second location.
Holloway and Delany Jo Spradlin had been identified in two previous shooting investigations in the Candler area. As a result of the ongoing investigation, both were charged in the shootings, which occurred April 21 and May 10. No injuries were reported in either incident.
“Excellent investigative work by the detectives and CSIs, whose diligence led to the arrest of those charged,” said District 2 Capt. Elliot Summey. “Your efforts restored a sense of security to those affected.”
