ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Asheville Police Department officers arrested Warren Daryl Braithwaite, 55, on nine felony counts for drug trafficking in a West Asheville neighborhood.
APD officers made contact with Brathwaite around 9:20 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21 on Deaverview Road.
Braithwaite was found to be in possession of 37 grams of fentanyl, 14.68 grams of crack cocaine, a trafficking amount of opium and $7,442 in United States currency.
Brathwaite was taken into custody without incident and charged with:
- Level III trafficking of opium by transport – Felony
- Level III trafficking of opium by possession – Felony
- Possession with intent to manufacture sell deliver cocaine – Felony
- Possession with intent to manufacture sell deliver fentanyl – Felony
- Maintaining a vehicle for controlled substance – Felony
- Manufacture sell deliver possess controlled substance within 1000ft of a park – Felony, two counts
- Possession Schedule II – Felony, two counts
- Traffic violations – Misdemeanor
Brathwaite was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility under a $200,000 secured bond issued by a magistrate.
