From Tipoff to Titles: Hendersonville Black Legends of the Game – Noon to 2 p.m., Hendersonville Family YMCA

This weekend, the Hendersonville Family YMCA will host a community Black History Month celebration honoring local Black basketball champions. Featured speakers at the celebration will include Henderson County natives Tippy Creswell and Kevin Young, in addition to other guests from the community. Read more in our story here.

America 250 Symposium – 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Pack Memorial Library

Buncombe County Special Collections and North Carolina Historic Sites will host a full day of America250 programming at the Lord Auditorium inside Pack Memorial Library in downtown Asheville. The free public event will feature lectures, a film screening and live readings centered on immigration, integration, emancipation and voting rights in North Carolina. Watch “Pillion” – Now playing in theaters

Alexander Skarsgård (“The Northman,” “The Moment”) and Harry Melling (Dudley Dursley in “Harry Potter”) star in “Pillion,” a critically-acclaimed “rom-dom” about a timid gay man who begins a BDSM relationship with a mysterious biker. “Pillion” is now playing in theaters nationwide.

Plants for Everyone Annual Sale – Noon to 6 p.m., Smith Mill Works, 16 Smith Mill Road

The Plant for Everyone annual plant sale returns this weekend. The bare root plant sale is dedicated to connecting the community with affordable plants, with a special emphasis on edible and ornamental plants. Gimme Gimme Disco – 8 p.m. to Midnight, Eulogy, 10 Buxton Ave.

Eulogy won’t give ABBA a man after midnight (the event only goes to 12 a.m.) but they will be playing all manner of ABBA music at their “Gimme Gimme Disco” dance party. Find tickets here.

Rebuilding the Riverfront Community Design Workshop – 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., A-B Tech Ivy Building, 9 Genevieve Circle

The City of Asheville Parks & Recreation is inviting residents to help shape the future of a major riverfront recovery project during a community design workshop this weekend. City officials say the workshop will give residents their first look at how designers and engineers have translated community priorities into preliminary concepts for a more resilient riverfront.
