ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — The Asheville Police Department has announced that Officer Beauregard “Beau” Terence Baley has resigned from the force following his arrest and an internal investigation earlier this month.

Baley, 43, was booked into Buncombe County Detention Center on Feb. 7, 2026 and charged for driving while impaired, urinating in public, resisting a public officer, reckless driving and misdemeanor child abuse. Baley was off-duty at the time of his arrest.
