WEAVERVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — Buncombe County authorities have charged a man in a fatal shooting that happened Monday in the Reems Creek area of Buncombe County.

Timothy Becker, 24, has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of 23-year-old Allen Crenshaw, according to the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office.

MAN FOUND DEAD VIA GUNSHOT WOUND TO THE HEAD IN REEMS CREEK AREA

Deputies responded to a call of a gunshot wound just after 12:45 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13, at 7 Pink Fox Ridge Road. Responding deputies found Crenshaw dead at the scene with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the head, a news release from the sheriff’s office said.

According to the release, multiple subjects were detained.

On Tuesday, investigators named Becker as the suspected shooter. According to the jail log, Becker was taken into custody Monday and he is being held in the Buncombe County Detention Facility under a $500,000 secured bond.

Buncombe County authorities described the shooting as “an isolated incident” with “no threat to the community at this time.”
