MARION, N.C. (828newsNOW) — One person has been arrested in a bomb threat involving the McDowell County Courthouse earlier this week.

A man called McDowell County Communications with the threat Monday morning, Feb. 17, local authorities said.

On Tuesday afternoon, the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office took Christopher Jaren Forney, 30, of Marion, into custody and charged him with felony false bomb report regarding a public building. He has been denied bond.

An arrest warrant has been issued for David Russell Cash, 28, of Marion.
