The crash happened about 4:23 p.m. Feb. 13 at the intersection of New Leicester Highway and Eliada Home Road.

The Prius was driven by Jennifer Louise Saylor, 56, police said.

Holzhauser was ejected from the motorcycle and died at the scene.

New Leicester Highway was closed for more than an hour while officers investigated.

Following an investigation and consultation with the Buncombe County District Attorney’s Office, Saylor was charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle and unsafe movement, police said.

She was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility under a $5,000 unsecured bond, or $500 to a bondsman, as set by a magistrate.
