ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — The Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a woman was found dead near a roadway Thursday morning.
Deputies responded to the 700 block of Old Mars Hill Highway after receiving a call for service around 7 a.m., according to the sheriff’s office.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol also responded to the scene.
Authorities said the investigation is ongoing and additional information will be released when it becomes available. No further details about the woman’s identity or the circumstances surrounding her death have been released.
